<Ancient Legacy> uses an officer-awarded loot policy.
Procedure goes like this:
When an item drops, it will be linked in /pstparse channel. If you would like to be considered, please link the item you would replace with the dropped item.
The officers will deliberate and award the loot. (Recruits will only be considered only if no member puts in on an item.)
Several different factors go in to the decision process. They include but are not limited to (in no particular order):
- participation (in raids, guild, helpfulness in general)
- item being replaced
- last awarded item
- benefit to raid
- benefit to character
- attitude
The bottom line is this: your officers will be looking at the benefit of the item to the raid force and general raid progression. The more successful we are in progression the more loot we get. The more loot we get, the more people who receive items. Just because you don't get a particular piece of loot, doesn't mean the fallout of the award won't benefit you. This system requires you trust that your officers are fair and knowledgeable and have the best interests of the whole in mind.
For example, it is common sense that the survivability of the MT & OT have the largest impact on the success of the raid as a whole. Therefore, there may be occasions where our MT/OT receive 3 or 4 loot awards in a row while you, Mr. Uber L33t Scout DPS have been passed over 3 or 4 times. That does not mean the officers are playing favorites with the MT/OT, it means we are making smart decisions that will ultimately have a great impact on our success. The same scenario may play out if a really rare healer-only wrist item drops that prevents death 50% of the time on one target in that healer's group. In this situation, the MT/OT healers would clearly benefit most from the item and you should expect that it will likely be awarded to an MT/OT healer.
We all want to succeed. While it might make your night to walk away with something shiny, we will ultimately obtain a greater amount of loot if it is awarded appropriately. Loot whores need not apply.
If an item is not awarded, it will be opened as Alt Loot.
Members will select "Main Alts." These may be changed every two months. A Main Alt must be level 81 or higher. [
Main Alt Thread]
When an item drops and it is not needed by a member or a recruit, it will be opened to Main Alts. Members may /random 100. Highest wins.*
The winner of the roll is awarded the item for a small fee. For tier one loot the fee is 20 plat. For tier two it is 40 plat.
If the item is not needed for a Main Alt, it will be opened for trade. A member may trade a T9 fabled item to be transmuted in its place. (If multiple, /random 100.)
If it is not desired in trade, it will be sold in open channel.
If it does not sell in open channel, it will be transmuted.
All transmuting materials obtained from rot loot will be deposited in the <Ancient Legacy> guild bank and will be used to provide adornments for guild members. Any proceeds from the sale of gear on raids will also go to the guild bank and will be used to pay guild hall upkeep fees, and buy master spells, adornments, and/or other upgrades for members.
Master spells that drop and are not needed by any individual currently on the raid will be looted by the raid leader. The spell will be distributed in the following order:
1. <Ancient Legacy> raiding members who are not present for that particular raid, but who need the spell on their
primary raiding character.
2. <Ancient Legacy> members who are on the raid and have a main alt that needs the spell. You must advise the raid leader of your interest in the spell at the conclusion of the raid. The raid leader will then /random the spell out and award it.
3. If the spell is not awarded via options 1 or 2, it will be sold and the proceeds will be deposited in the guild bank.
* As with regular loot, alt loot is subject to officer intervention.
